Agreement on Design and Royalty agreement
In some cases, a design task has been set by a client, and in those cases, it is important that a contract is prepared between the designer (architect) and the client. The contract must clearly determine the agreement between the parties.
As drafting, design and planning are often carried out in ongoing interaction, the chronological specification of tasks described in the contract is often theoretical. In practice, many of the tasks will be carried out simultaneously – and sometimes in reverse order.
We have two agreement forms that take account of the above, and they should be used in connection with design and royalty agreements.
- Agreement on Design Development, January 2019
- Royalty agreement concerning production, January 2019

Agreements between consultants
Architectural firms often need to collaborate with other architects over long periods of time and/or in connection with specific projects. The Danish Association of Architectural Firms has prepared some paradigms for partnership agreements which can be used or at least provide inspiration for what the parties to such collaboration should pay attention to.
The partnership agreement focuses on the basis chosen for the parties’ collaboration on the project, the labour to be made available by each party and the rules for carrying on architectural business as determined in the statutes of the Danish Association of Architectural Firms.
